In some of my recent posts, I’ve talked about different kinds of learners. I’ve used the examples of auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners, because they are the easiest to understand.

But things can be classified in many different ways. You can group flowers, for instance, by color, by height, by growing season, by variety, or by the way they’re planted.

The same is true for learning styles. If you do a search online, you’ll find many more ways to talk about how people learn. Some are simple, others more complicated. Most can provide you with additional information about how your child learns, and then you can use that information to their advantage.

Because there is so much information out there, I’ve tried to do some of the work for you. Here are some good links to get you started:

Kara's Tip of the Week
Organization is a problem for a child with ADHD. Have the teacher check to see if homework assignments have been written down at the end of the day. If the teacher is unable to check each day, see if a “buddy” can be assigned for your child to check at the end of the school day if homework assignments have been written in the agenda.
