I have noticed an interesting trend lately online. More and more people are talking about the benefits of using a Wii when you have ADD.
In fact, Kay Marner, who writes a blog for ADDitde Magazine online, says that 2 of her daughter’s therapists have actually recommended a Wii as supplemental treatment for her ADHD. You can read Kay’s post here.
Kay notes that the Wii allows her daughter to work out her excess energy during the winter months when it is too dark or too cold to go outside. A number of other parents have said the same.
Another benefit of using a Wii is in terms of exercise.
Exercise has been proven to benefit ADHD, allowing greater clarity of thought. For some, those benefits can be felt even as much as 24 hours later.
Choosing fitness programs (and Kay notes a yoga program too) can provide your child with some fun and beneficial exercise too. Worth a thought.
