The other day my daughter Caitlin happened to see a portion of the Bonnie Hunt Show while she was waiting for an appointment. She sent me a text message immediately telling me about the person on the show, Sir Ken Robinson, because she knew that I would be interested in what he had to say.
I have just begun to read about Sir Robinson and his ideas, but I really want to know more.
I have always said that the way that we teach our children is antiquated and out of touch with today. I think that ADD Students in particular suffer from teaching methods that are in some respects centuries old because they do not take their individual learning styles into account.
Please note: I am in NO way criticizing teachers. There are many wonderful, caring teachers out there who do the best they can with what they have to work with. My issues are with the school systems themselves and the way they are run.
I wanted to share some of what I am learning about Sir Ken Richardson and his ideas with you. I’m sure this is a subject I will continue to address.
Here is a link to a video and article about him on CNN, and this is the link to his site. I would love to hear your opinions about what he has to say.

One important thing I like about blogs is this: they provoke a thought in my brain. After that happens, I feel as I have to comment with the hope it can be valuable to others. Due to the fact there are so many weblogs with totally different points of view, they test your understanding. It really is at these occasions when you have vital insignt others may not have had, and this includes the blogger himself/herself. I find myself returning to your blog mainly because you have plenty of amazing insights and also you have been at this a long time, that is very impressive and tells me you know your stuff. Keep sparking imagination in other people!
