My son Andy has been struggling through one of those classes with a mind numbingly boring textbook. Hey, you know they exist.
Thankfully he understands the importance of reading and retaining the material whether or not he’s interested in it.
I went over a technique with him that I have taught students for years. It has the illusion of requiring less actual reading (a bonus when it’s boring) but actually increases retention.
