Here in the US, it’s almost time for kids to go back to school. Two of my three(all in college) start at the end of next month and the third starts in September.
It seems that parents always look forward to both summer vacation and the start of school. When the summer begins, we’re all anxious for warm, lazy days with nothing ahead but fun and relaxation.
By the time August arrives, though, we may be looking forward to cooler weather, a more structured environment, and yes – getting the kids out of the house.
Parents of ADD Students and ADD Students themselves approach a new school year with hope and optimism. This will be the year that they get things together and keep them that way.
Too often those well made plans fall to the wayside about the time that Halloween rolls around.
But if you get a head start now on the school year, you may be able to bring those dreams a little bit closer to reality. Here’s how:
Think back to last year. What was the biggest factor related to ADHD that made for a less than successful year?
Getting out the door or to class on time?
Losing things or misplacing them?
Forgetting to do things?
Narrow your choices down. Pick the one thing that would make a huge difference in yours and your child’s lives if it could be resolved.
Now figure out a way to help your child learn this skill. You’ve got about a month until school starts. That’s a good head start on making a positive skill into a habit.
Need some ideas on how to resolve some of these issues, especially during the summer?
Tune in tomorrow.

Just found your site through a good friend of mine who said your site was worth reading
Great post and thanks for sharing.
I Dont know if you will find the humor in this but I was searching for information on a research paper about TD Ameritrade and somehow from clicking through several links I stumbled here! The fact that I am commenting goes to show I will do anything to procrastinate!
interesting post. I can tell you put a lot of thought into it. Keep up the good work!
