You know the movie with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman called The Bucket List, right? They play two men dying of cancer who go on a road trip to do as many of the things as they wished for in their life before they run out of time.
Now I’m not suggesting anything quite so morbid for you and your kids, but maybe you could make a list of things that you want to do before school starts again.
And while it’s perfectly fine if you add in things like a trip to the zoo or a camping trip, why not consider stretching your boundaries a little bit?
Play into your ADD Student’s impulsive side and do something spontaneous. Have a water balloon fight in the kitchen or go for a drive with no real destination. Make your turns based on whimsy or a flip of a coin.
Pretend that you are tourists in your own town and visit a few places you’ve never been.
Pick a country and “visit” there for a week. Learn as much as you can about it. Try to speak the language at home and cook up some new meals.
Make a fair in your backyard and invite the neighborhood kids. Get your whole family into the act, making ring toss games and side shows.
Go to the art museum and then come home and make your own art. Be sure to hang it in your “gallery”.
Camp out in your backyard. Play ghost in the graveyard with your kids. Roast marshmallows.
Find out about geocaching and give it a try. It’s adventurous, fun and educational. Your kids will love it and they’ll learn things too. And if they’re in scouting, there might even be a badge to earn.
Set your imagination free this summer and see what you and your kids can discover.

What you’re saying here is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand.
